Our Story: We looked around at the new wave of tools on the web. We looked at who was using them and who was being served by them. We spoke to our "non-profit community" friends and discovered they were being actively ignored in this new wave of the web. It's sad to report but few businesses truly care in a pro-active way about accessibility, "people with disabilities" or "dolphins" or "kids learning English" or indeed the people volunteering to help the people-in-need in our communities...

Our personal research over the years showed that the bottom of the pyramid was ignored mainly because they were seen as a loss leader in terms of cost-to-serve.

So, armed with a tinge of righteous indignation ;) and a desire to serve, coupled with the fact that 1000s of non-profits could really do with some useful tools to help them out - we resolved to rectify the situation.

So, we are now developing the set of web-based business tools that should already exist and be simply accessible over the web for the "non-profit" mission-based community - but aren't.

All tools are modular, very usable, universally accessible and web standards compliant.

The business model is a monthly subscription with individual plans for extended usage.

There are no restrictions otherwise - just good wholesome tools to let you get on with your business rather than trying to learn some new-fangled, counter-productive tool.

Survey system

Our Survey System is, we believe, the world's first fully accessible and usable web application, requiring no technical knowledge. It allows the simple creation and administration of surveys for effective information gathering. The start of change is understanding.

We believe people should care about good surveys because:

1. They give the sender of the survey a great snapshot of their market and
2. They give the market a chance to ask for exactly what they want and therefore
3. Everybody wins!

We see current web surveys as having the following issues that we intend to resolve:

• Not super simple to use. Therefore not used that much.
• Not accessible in the front AND back-end. Therefore can't be used that much.
• No integrated assistance to write good surveys that attract high response rates.
• No community aspect to share common trials, tribulations, tips and fixes.
• Service providers have "actively ignored" the non-profit community in this area.
• Benefits do not match features at the price. So, we're all about real value benefits.

The survey system is also the first tool out of our new non-profit portal stable.

The non-profit Portal

The non-profit portal is a collection of essential, modular web applications for the non-profit community. The key modules cost in the range of $1 per day and will benefit our clients by allowing folks to:

• Update their own sites without technical assistance
• Communicate in a more targeted and efficient fashion with their constitutents, donors and volunteers
• Communicate both internally and externally with other non-profits and service providers
• Manage databases, documents and information in general with less fuss
• Create powerful many-to-many social networks and stop the typical one-to-many shotgun approach
• Get on with their mission work and let their new system take care of the mechanics

Visual Executive Summaries

Visual Executive Summaries are our first "productized service" for everybody. We convert very complex ideas into simple informative diagrams. These can be used within areas of your site as a useful download or internally with your own teams as a poster to explain how a process works. We find this product/service is very good for people with a high need to stay up-to-date and and informed but with little time to do it.
